Visitors to the world of Hinduism seldom probe its complex system of diverse beliefs and practices. If you want to better understand the 900 million Hindus of the world, H. L. Richard's brief but insightful Hinduism is a must-read. In it, he addresses both esoteric and practical issues.

In this small book, Richard takes us on a quick tour of the Hindu scriptures, the basic Hindu philosophies, and includes a comprehensive glossary of Hindu terminology.

  • The significance of an evangelist such as H.L. Richard is that he admires those who feel called to serve with the Gospel.  He understands the Hindu world, not only in its philosophical traditions but also in its current practical expressions.  In this work, H.L. Richard guards us against unfair judgmentalism and ignorant generalizations of this complex society.  He provides a “traveler’s guide” before we presume to enter the Hindu world.

    — Herb Hoefer, Missions Chair, Concordia University, Portland Oregon
  • This book by H.L. Richard is a wonderful and useful handbook for those who want to be positive witnesses for Hindus.  It is simple and profound.  It helps us to understand and respect Hindus, and also gives us guidelines for what not to do and what to do with our Hindu neighbors.

    — Dr. N. Jawahar Gnaniah, East West Community Church, Anaheim, CA
