Customer Service & Sales Coordinator

Position Location: This position would be nice if they were in the Denver, CO area (because we have fun office parties), but can be a work-from-home position for the right candidate, ideally located within the Mountain, Central, or Eastern timezones.

Position Summary: 
Reporting directly to the 
Director of Publishing, the Customer Service & Sales Coordinator provides customer service to external clients and supports marketing efforts to promote more salesThe Customer Service & Sales Coordinator must have a winsome personality, be friendlyunflappable, creative in problem solving, have the ability to de-escalate situations, follow through on enacting solutionshave high emotional-intelligence and strategic thinking skills, and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is both mission and results-driven. The ideal individual will have the ability to see the connections between happy customers and sales, relationships and results. They must be able to generate themes, concepts, and copy for sales based on WCP’s clientele and have the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple projects with shifting levels of priority and still meet deadlinesThe Customer Service & Sales Coordinator will have superb written and verbal communication skills, strategic and organizational skills, high follow through, as well as the ability to work independently on projects with defined goals.  

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Answer customer service phone calls and work within our website and other channels in order to enact solutions or provide support.  
  • Follow through on all sales leads generated by or for the Director of Publishing. 
  • Conduct market research. 
  • Generate large-sale sales leads.  
  • Contribute to concepts, structure, copy, and scheduling of marketing emails and promotions.  
  • Craft connected elements for campaigns and execute them on our website (blogs, landing pages, discounts, collections, etc.).  
  • Represent WCP at certain events throughout the year.   
  • Facilitate WCP events, both online and in-person.  
  • Oversee special projects for the Director of Publishing, while managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks.  
  • Contribute to the Submissions Team. 
  • Perform related and other duties as assigned.  
  • Completes compliance training as scheduled by Human Resources 
  • Attend weekly organization wide staff meeting and any team related meetings as determined necessary by supervisor 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.  
  • Proficiency in learning new technologies and software 
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp and other marketing platforms. 
  • Understanding of modern marketing practices and technologies. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must have friendly demeanor and helpful attitude toward customers, internal and external. 
  • Must have capacity to follow through on sales leads with little supervision.  
  • The ability to work patiently with customers on the phone.  
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.  
  • Must enjoy working with customers.  
  • Must value the mission and vision of William Carey Publishing. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, English or related degree.  
  • Minimum 2 years customer service experience. 
  • Minimum 2 years marketing experience.  
  • Must be technologically savvy 
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. 
  • Must be able to travel several times a year
